Jawaharlal Nehru University is the foremost university in India and a world-renowned center for teaching and research. Ranked number one in India by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), JNU was ranked no 3 among all universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework, Government of India, in 2016 and no 2 in 2017. JNU also received the Best University Award from the President of India in 2017.
Recently JNU announced that it will accept CAT 2018 scores for admission to School of Management and Entrepreneurship for July 2019 session. JNU will accept the Common Admission Test (CAT) scores for admission in its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.
Jawaharlal Nehru University is the new entrant to the list of non-IIMs which would be accepting CAT scores for admission to their MBA programme. The news was also confirmed by Mamidala Jagadish Kumar, JNU VC, in a tweet. The management programme will be offered through the School of Management and Entrepreneurship. This will be the flagship year for the MBA programme at JNU.
Mamidala Jagadish Kumar, vice chancellor of JNU also confirmed the news.
He said,” “JNU joins the Common Admission Test 2018 (CAT 2018), conducted by IIMs, for admission in School of Management and Entrepreneurship in JNU starting from July 2019 session”.
CAT 2018 (Common Admission Test) is a national level management entrance exam for the academic session 2019-20. The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct computer-based Common Admission Test 2018 (CAT 2018) on Sunday, 25th November 2018 in two sessions.
The official notification for CAT has been released and the online registration for the exam will begin from August 8, 2018. The registration process will end on September 19, 2018. CAT is a computer-based exam which will have three sections – Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Section III: Quantitative Ability (QA).
Conducted by IIMs, CAT 2018 is a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs(Indian Institutes of Management -Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bodh Gaya, Calcutta, Indore, Jammu, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur, Visakhapatnam) and other top B-Schools.
The CAT 2018 Scores are allowed to be used by the listed non-IIM member institutions. List of non-IIM member institutions that have registered to avail the CAT 2018 scores is provided at the official website. Please note that IIMs have no role in the selection process of non-IIM institutions.
