Producing graduates who are well equipped to handle the working norms of the industry and commerce in the public and the private sectors has been the primary aim of the university.
The campus recruitment process at VIT has started for B.Tech batch graduating in 2019. Microsoft, DE Shaw, and PayPal being the top recruiters placed 16 students in the first slot of the placement session. Eight students got a super dream offer of Rs 39 lakhs per annum by Microsoft.
DE Shaw & Co. offered a package of Rs 33 lakhs per annum to one student while 7 students received a dream offer of 21.5 lakhs by PayPal. More than 30 super dream companies are expected to visit Vellore Institute of Technology campus offering CTC of more than 10 lakhs per annum for campus selection which will continue till the first week of August.
According to a press release, the three companies recruited the candidates during slot-1 campus placements for the 2019 B.Tech batch. DE Shaw made an offer of 33 lakh a year to one student, while PayPal offered 21.5 lakh a year to seven students.
The campus recruitment processuntil‘super dream companies’ (CTC of more than 10 lakh per annum) would continue till the first week of August.
More than 30 companies are expected to visit VIT for recruitment in this category. This would be followed by “dream companies” (IT and core) that offer more than 5 lakh a year.
During the M.Tech internship placements for the 2019 batch that took place in June, 60 companies recruited 507 M.Tech students with internship stipends ranging from 10,000 to 45,000. Intel recruited 147 M.Tech students for the internship this year. A total of 487 companies were involved in recruitment last year. As per reports, more than 500 companies are expected to visit VIT for recruitment till May 2019.
The PAT center plays an integral role in creating the illustrious placement record of VIT. It ensures smooth functioning of the placement activities in the campus. The center further facilitates the training activities of the students and makes sure they get placed in the best of both national and international companies.
The key responsibilities of the PAT center are listed below:
•To organize campus interviews for final year students with industries and business houses of repute from all over India.
•To prepare students to face campus interviews by arranging training in Aptitude tests, group discussions, preparing for Technical and HR interviews through professional trainers and VIT alumni.
•To promote career counseling by organizing guidance lectures by senior corporate personnel and most importantly by the immediately placed senior students.
