Amitabh Bachchan turns 76th today, Hosting 10th season of popular show KBC and upcoming film Thugs of Hindustan

Big B Amitabh Bachchan is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated actors in the industry. The actor, who is presently hosting the 10th season of his hit quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, is celebrating his 76th birthday today. Even at the age of 76, Big B is going strong and has a lot of films lined up in his kitty.

He earned his name and fame in the mid-70s when his film Zanjeer (1973) became a hit. The shahanshah of Bollywood made his Hindi film debut with the Saat Hindustani in 1969 and till now he has worked in over 190 films. Big B has also been conferred with the Padma Shri in 1984, Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contribution to arts.

In his five-decade-long career, not only has he mesmerized the audience with his acting skills but has also established himself as a TV host. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has not only given many versatile performances but has also garnered a massive fan following across the globe. His craze is such that people wait outside his house for hours just to get a glimpse of him.

Big B is celebrating his 76th birthday today and he recently took to his social media to show his gratitude towards the people who have wished him on his special day.

Apart from the show, Big B has been making headlines due to his spectacular performance in the upcoming film Thugs of Hindostan. Helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the movie also stars Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead role.

Last month, the trailer of the film was released last week and since then netizens can stop talking about Big B’s amazing performance. Interestingly, the superstar’s costume in the film weighs over 20 kgs. Thugs of Hindostan will release on November 8.

According to a report, this year Amitabh Bachchan’s decision to not celebrate his birthday is because of the recent demise of his daughter Shweta Nanda’s father-in-law Rajan Nanda. The report also revealed that Amitabh Bachchan was also deeply saddened by the demise of Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor, recently, and consequently is in no mood for celebration.

Amitabh Bachchan is synonymous with the legend. The actor made his debut with Saat Hindustani in 1969 and as they say, the rest is history. The actor, singer, producer and TV host have acted in over 190 films in a span of 48 years.

With his baritone, fierce eyes and those looks to kill, it comes as no surprise that Bachchan is often labeled as the ‘Star of the Millenium.’ Even today, fans and movie buffs can’t help but rewatch Big-B’s movies like Deewar, Zanjeer, and Agneepath on repeat. It was during the 70s that Bachchan experienced his careers best phase. It was dominance over the industry that made French director Francois Truffaut call him a ‘one-man industry.’

With 4 National Film Awards for his spectacular performances, 15 Filmfare Awards Big B has also been conferred with the Padma Shri in 1984, Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contribution to arts. That’s not it, the Government of France has also honored him the highest civilian honor, Knight of the Legion of Honour for his exceptional career in the world of cinema.
