IIT Patna is one of the new IITs established by an Act of the Indian Parliament on August 06, 2008. 4th RESPECT KVs workshop at IIT Patna is going to held on 6th-8th August 2018.
The Department of Physics at IIT Patna was established and started its activity in August 2008 to train undergraduate engineering students. The department is committed to engaging in high-quality research and pursuit of excellence in teaching. The faculty members of the department are actively involved in research and development in challenging areas of both theory and experiment. Currently, the main research emphasis of the department comprises of Condensed Matter Physics, Optics, Biophysics, and Atomic & Molecular Physics.
The developments of any nation/country/society depend on innovation, discovery, and invention. For such practice learning of basic principle of science for research and technology, IIT Patna is going to organize sessions at IITP from 6-8thAugust 2018.
Workshop on Revitalizing School Physics Education through concept-oriented teaching for Physics PGT KV (RESPECT KVs)” will be held from 6-8thAugust 2018. It is jointly organized by Indian Association of Physics Teacher (IAPT) under NANI(National Anveshika Network on India) and IIT Patna. This is the 4th workshop at IIT Patna in its series.
Anveshika is an IAPT initiative to create centers across India in schools and Colleges where students and teachers can learn experiment-based physics and try out their own ideas. The Anveshikas regularly organize interaction sessions with students, short and long-term Teachers training programmes, develop new teaching demos and other activities as found appropriate with the IAPT objective to make Physics teaching more effective and learner-centric.
In this orientation session, 40 post-graduate teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya from Bihar (Patna), Uttar Pradesh (Varanasi), and Madhya Pradesh (Jabalpur) are going to participate in the workshop.
This RESPECT KVs (Revitalizing School Physics Education through concept-oriented teaching for Physics PGT KV) programme will be organized by the National Anveshika Network of India, Co-ordinated by prof. H.C. Verma, IIT Kanpur (Eminent teacher and academician) and Dept. of Physics, IIT Patna. The convener of this workshop is Dr. ManoranjanKar, IIT Patna. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, head, Nanotechnology Dept. of Aryabhatta Knowledge University is the local coordinator.
The resource persons of this workshop are Dr. Utpal Roy, Dept. of Physics, IITP, Faculty members, Department of Physics, IIT Patna, Dr. ManoranjanKar, IIT Patna and, Dr. B.C. Rai and Dr. Santosh Kumar of Patliputra University Patna.
As per reports, the state Bihar will lead in this session on scientific society developed for Nation building. Also, IIT Patna as a national importance institute is leading to help the development of the nation at the ground level.
As per reports, this 4th RESPECT KVs workshop at IIT Patna is a project initiated by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. KVS has approved a project where selected Physics PGTs from KVs from various regions will be given 3-days workshops by Dr. H C Verma and his team. The proposal was submitted by DrVerma on behalf of National Anveshika Network of India, a unit of Indian Association of Physics Teachers.
The project is to give a total of 10 Physics Workshops, each of 3 days duration, to the PGTs from different regions. From each workshop 4 to 5 most active teachers will be selected and a 10-day Workshop will be arranged for them.
In the 4th RESPECT KVs workshop at IIT Patna, participants will pay the registration fee and they need to report at the registration desk (SENATE HALL, Administrative building IIT Patna). Lodging will be arranged by the IIT Patna.
